Young Republicans Serving in Our Military

Many Young Republicans are serving our nation in our military. Operation Yellow Elephant thanks every single one of them for their service to our country. Their willingness to sacrifice for our common good shows that they have the courage of their convictions and are rightly recognized as credible leaders for our communities, states and, indeed, the entire country.

Here are some specific examples of YRs identified in the comments in the past day or so:

Lieutenant Federico Sanchez, two tours in Iraq.
Todd Goberville, YR State Chairman in Florida, USMC 1997-2001.

MAJ William Bradley Carver, serving in Iraq.

MAJ Robert Houghteling, serving in Iraq.

CPL Ruben Meastre, serving in Iraq.

Michael Shelnutt, serving in Iraq.

CPT Roger Woods, has served in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Bill Justice, USMC in the mid-1990s, reported the following:
Kevin Meislin
Jeremy Schwartz
Dan van Wagenen
Matt Basik
Jason Dominguez
CPT Brian Smith
Steve Stivers
Phil van Treuren
Seth Benae
Steven Fischer
Jason Frankenfield
MAJ Kevin Kelly
SSGT Jonathan Jenkins
Nick Miccarelli [whom OYE has previously praised here]
Daniel Pritchard
Jason Seacrist
Howie Acuff
Joe Baker
Lance Frizzell
Paul Knight
Shane Howard

LCDR Eric Vetter reported the following:
Matt Smargesse
1LT Toby Johnson
CPT Roger Woods [possible duplicate; see above]
MAJ James Martin
Chad Rager
CPT Richard S. Danielson
MAJ Bubba Deckert
MAJ Edward Morris Gray
Kim Collins
CPL Mark D. Kidd
Jennifer Berry
Kyung "KC" Choi
Michael DiMartino
Mark Fang

Janice Cain reported that Jesse Purdon, active in both the FL and MI YRs, was a national officer until he left for boot camp. Ms. Cain, please provide details if you can. Has there been any media on this? Send us an e-mail; click here.

We already noted that Presidential nephew George P. Bush has joined the Naval Reserve, and praised him for his commitment to our nation. Given the demands being placed on the reserve component and the National Guard, we certainly expect he will be called to active duty.
The images, and probably the vast majority of the names, came from the Florida YRs.

I wonder how many are on their 2nd or 3rd tours and do they still support the war?

That's a good question. Why don't you click on Florida YRs and ask them?

Most troops oppose the way Bush is handling this war. Really blows the brainless "most troops vote Republican" meme out of the water.
