Will Mitt Romney urge the Young Republicans at their National Convention to Be A Man! Enlist!?
Former Massachusetts Governor [and Presidential candidate] Mitt Romney will speak at the Young Republicans National Convention, July 4-8, 2007, in Hollywood, Florida.
We have only one question:
-
Will Governor Romney encourage the Young Republicans who are eligible to serve [healthy heterosexuals 41 and under] to consider volunteering for military service in the Global War on Terror?
-
And if he won't, why should anyone take him seriously?

Why to you continue to lie? You know that many YRs are in Iraq and Afghanistan. We have sent you pictures and names. You also know many of the YRs are veterans. You also know we have accepted your offer to pay for a booth for the branch of the military that you choose. The YRs welcome military recruitment, but OYE is a group of hypocrites who will not join the military themselves.
By the way, YRNC 2007 has a copyright on the pictures on their web site. Legal action will be taken if necessary.
You guys are barking up the wrong tree on this one. The strongest YR clubs are those near military bases. The YRs have a strong military presence within their membership.
Lieutenant Federico Sanchez, two tours in Iraq and member of the YRs.
Operation Yellow Elephant refuses to tell the truth!
I served in the United States Marines from 1997 to 2001, and I am the state YR Chairman in Florida.
Maj. William Bradley Carver
Maj. Robert Houghteling
Cpl. Ruben Meastre
Michael Shelnutt
All YRs serving in Iraq
I am a YR, and I have served in both Iraq and Afghanistan.
Whoever writes this blog is in a dream world! They must like making things up! EVERY male member of my club in Tyler has either served or is serving in the military. Even some of the females are veterans!

Jesse Purdon will be headed there soon. He's been in both the FL and MI YRs. In fact, he was a national officer until he left for boot camp.
Operation Yellow Elephant doesn't seem to want people to know the truth! It seems they only want to create a blog and use false claims to justify their anti-war/anti-American positions. They know very clearly that YRs are usually in the military or former military, but that doesn't allow them to push their agenda so they must feel they need to lie to trick people into following them.
It looks like I am the only YR that has never been in the service on this blog. I still wanted to come hear though. I'll be honest, I am just not military material. You wouldn't want me beside you with a gun in my hands, but that doesn't mean I can't support the war. That is like telling a Democrat they can't support abortion unless they have ever been pregnant. This is America! I can support whatever I want and still be a man. I don't see the author of the blog running to a military recruiter. Maybe he should be a man!
^ Same IP address for all the above, I'll bet. Chickenhawk internet warriors are fun to argue with, but gosh help 'em they just aren't that bright.
It appears that many of you commenting here haven't done your homework on O.Y.E. If you served then O.Y.E. "thanks you" for stepping up. But if you support the war, and are not willing to serve in it O.Y.E. will call you out as the coward that you are.
To those that characterize a majority of YR's as currently serving or have served then you are sadly mistaken or just being dishonest. It's no secret that the Army could use more troops. Raising the age for enlistment and lengthening overseas tours is proof enough that our armed services are short on man power. If all those that support the war and are elligible to serve do enlist then we can prevent those in the Armed Services from having their already difficult combat tours made much more difficult.
See, it's really easy to support a war if it costs you nothing. Actually, it does cost you something- your integrity
Wek,
Question 1: Are you serving or have you served in the military? If the answer is no, then by your standards you should just shut up!
Question 2: If you are in favor of having police protection in you city, yet you are not a police officer, does this make you a coward?
Question 3: Please state for us exactly how many YRs are NOT serving in the War. The truth is, you have no clue, so to promote your anti-American views you make up lies and REFUSE to back up a single statement you have made about the YRs.
Where is the "thank you" for George P. Bush who recently joined the Navy Reserve?
G.P.W's thank you- http://operationyellowelephant.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html
Until every single supporter of the Republican war in Iraq are in the military instead of partying in Florida, then they are not all doing their part to support the war the Republicans wanted so badly. Why isn't every single Republican standing up and taking responsibility for what they started? Not some. Not most. EVERY ONE!

We warmly welcome any opportunity to generate publicity about the ongoing military recruiting crisis, in hopes that it would help to convince those eligible to serve who support the war to consider volunteering for military service in the Global War on Terror.
All of you are, unfortunately, missing the point. Our focus is those eligible to serve who haven't contacted a military recruiter.
We're actually on the same side here.
Are all of these Gung ho Republicans supposedly serving in the military. Are yhey politically active Republicans or just mostly apolitical people who might be leaning toward conservatism. Rather than Bush true believers
