Young Republicans vs. young Republicans: the "Future Leaders of the GOP"

There are two kinds of young Republicans: the organized Young Republicans [part of the Young Republicans National Federation] and the un-organized young Republicans, who are simply members of the Republican Party age 18 to 40.

In the public mind, and in ours, however, and with apologies to the Florida Young Republicans, they are basically the same thing. That's why we've been urging eligible young Republicans [healthy heterosexuals 41 and under] to Support Our President by contacting military recruiters and volunteer for service in the Global War on Terrorism.

The Young Republicans National Federation's own website [above] describes the YRs as the "Future Leaders of the GOP" and we believe it is therefore their duty to set a good example for the rest of us. Even if a significant proportion of one particular YR club has military experience, which we praise, with a Republican in the White House the YRs, as leaders, represent more than themselves.

And that's why President Bush needs their help. If he cannot convince even his strongest supporters to Be A Man! Enlist!, how can he possibly lead our nation, and the international coalition, to a successful outcome of the Global War on Terrorism in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere?
