Redlands, California, Joins Operation Yellow Elephant!

Anti-war protesters in Redlands, California, welcome the College Republicans of the University of Redlands to the great American tradition of robust, uninhibited debate. Money quotes:

War opposition sees opposition

Jessica Austin, the president of the university's College Republicans explained, "We're here to show Redlands our support for our troops and our president. We think that supporting our troops is about patriotism, not about partisanship."

Austin, a sophomore philosophy major at Redlands, expects the College Republicans to be at the same corner every Friday night until the war ends. She's hoping to raise money for a speaker to address the University of Redlands and the community, specifically referring to retired Army ranger Col. John Reitzell. For more information, e-mail Austin. Click here.

One of the few people at that corner supporting the war who was not a college student was Howard Hendrickson III of Redlands.

"I've been here for four months," Hendrickson said. "I'm here to support our troops and support our country."

Hendrickson called the war protesters "Misguided and ignorant. They don't understand the issues we're dealing with."

Katy Ahearn, a sales representative from Highland, wondered, "Do College Republicans love this country enough to fight for this country and go to Iraq?"

Operation Yellow Elephant thanks the veterans at the protest, on both sides of the issue, for their service to our country and wishes them all the best. We also thank the concerned citizens not eligible for military service for showing their support for our troops, also on both sides of the issue.

That said, if the University of Redlands College Republicans really want to Support Our Troops, those eligible to serve would Be A Man! Enlist!

Hat tip to Our Founder, Jesus' General.

Thank you for supporting the NRSC Pledge. A message must be sent to our republican leaders that we will not support those who support defeat.

What the Young Republicans are doing in Redlands is amazing. I am now so delighted when I drive through that intersection. Now I have to roll both windows down so I can show the Republicans my support on their side, while I must continue my tradition of flying the bird to the loons on their side.

Sir-
You need to act mature. How do you know I have not already? How do you know what my
future career goals are? And maybe you should e-mail the families of those who lost loved
ones on 9-11 and ask them too, as well. Or maybe you should just quit HARASSING me and let
me practice something you liberals hold to dearly- freedom of speech. And maybe sir, you
should try to be a bit more patriotic. The numerous e-mails of those serving our country
agree, and quite frankly- they are who matter. Or even maybe you could go sit down with
terrorists and make a bargain for peace and practice what YOU preach. May GOD and the GOP
bless you. ;)
