Help Young Republicans Find Their Strength!

The Army is now targeting parents with an ad campaign, "Help Them Find Their Strength," a generational counterpart to, "Be A Man! Enlist!"

Key question: Will Chicago's Leo Burnett ad agency focus on upscale Republican parents? Will they broadcast the ad in Waco, Texas (convenient to the Bush Ranch in Crawford)?

Ask Army spokesman Paul Boyce whether Fox News and the Christian Broadcasting Network as well as the Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy will run it for free - as a Public Service Announcement. [Given our federal budget deficit, it's the least they can do.] Can OYE ask for equal time to focus on the strongest supporters of U.S. military intervention? 703.697.2564 or paul.boyce@hqda.army.mil

Ask Leo Burnett Account Executive Karlyn Nelson whether their focus groups included prominent supporters of the current Administration, such as rich people, gas-guzzling SUV owners and that guy in Crawford, Texas, who bulldozed the crosses representing Iraq combat deaths. 312.220.3921 or karlyn.nelson@chi.leoburnett.com

The military wouldn't have this recruiting problem if frenchie would stop encouraging parents to forbid their kids' schools from providing recruiters with contact information, per NCLB! This is an edited version of an e-mail I sent about a month ago to approx. 200 officers/members of the National Federation of Republican Women. No replies...huh.

Greetings Republican Women,

I was heartened to learn of your efforts to support our troops in Iraq through your national web site. I'm sure the fine young men and women serving our country are grateful for all you do!

Are you aware that there are many in this country who are not as committed to our mission in Iraq? In fact, some actively undermine the war effort. For example, I recently learned of traitors who, in one fell swoop, reject "No Child Left Behind" and the "noble cause." Their aim is to encourage parents to opt out and forbid high schools from providing the information about their children that military recruiters so desperately need.

Military recruiters are being denied access to liberal children, but they must have full access to your children. All young Republicans must be encouraged to express the values that have been instilled in them and enlist.

I propose that you urge all your members to lead by example in this matter. The democrats and liberals who, among other things, opt out of supporting our troops by keeping their children at home are, as Karl Rove said, "putting our troops in greater danger." Encourage all Republican parents to opt IN and ensure that their children answer the call of duty upon high school graduation!

A couple of suggestions, off the top of my head, would be to organize grassroots efforts such as "OPT IN" bake sales and "Take My Child, Please" rallies. Of course, links to http://www.military.com/Recruiting/ on your web sites wouldn't hurt.

I'm sure that with your experience, dedication, and skills as members of the National Federation of Republican Women, you'll generate many creative ideas to help get young Republicans into uniform and off to Iraq.

Good luck and God bless!

A real OYE candidate can be found here:

Conservatives, on the other hand, truly love freedom - so much so that when necessary, they are willing to fight to preserve and protect it, as well as to export it around the world and extend it to other peoples less fortunate than we are.

It's not a "ranch". It's the Bush estate. Love your site.

I didn't get a rank for Paul Boyce. It's probably "Mr." At least, he didn't sound active-duty to me.
