Military Recruiting Lead: Young Democrats of America Convention, Dallas, Texas

The Young Democrats of America are convening this weekend at the Adam's Mark Hotel in Dallas, Texas to celebrate their 75th anniversary.

Looking at Iraq:

Since the Young Democrats are the future leaders of what they hope will be Our Nation's governing party, it is certainly proper to ask them what, exactly, they intend to do to ensure that Our Nation, and Our Allies, will be safe under a Democratic Administration.

Colin Powell was right: Remember the Pottery Barn Rule: You Break It, You Own It. Iraq is our problem and our responsibility and that won't change with the new Administration, regardless of party.

Looking Beyond Iraq:

Of course, concerned citizens who visit the convention to encourage the Young Democrats eligible to serve [healthy heterosexuals 41 and under] to Be A Man! Enlist!, should be prepared to engage in robust, uninhibited debate. But it would help Our Nation if they focused on the present and the future, rather than the past.

"Don't Ask, Don't Tell" is a suitable subject for discussion. Terrorists don't necessarily speak English, so the 58+ Arabic linguists, all volunteers, who were kicked out for not being heterosexual are not Supporting Our Troops. Those who insist on an all-heterosexual military have an obligation to encourage heterosexual Arabic linguists [if there are any], and other heterosexuals, to Be A Man! Enlist!

There are many other subjects, less directly related to our topic, that could also be discussed. We welcome everyone's participation in the Great American Tradition of the Free Exchange of Ideas.
