Tom Yuhaniak, a Credible Republican

Operation Yellow Elephant salutes Mr. Tom Yuhaniak, Valedictorian of the Salem [Ohio] High School Class of 2007, who entered the U.S. Naval Academy last month. Beginning in his junior year, Mr. Yuhaniak will commit to five years of military service after graduation.

According to his hometown paper, the Salem News, Mr. Yuhaniak was a member of the Young Republicans Club in 11th and 12th grades.

Operation Yellow Elephant thanks Mr. Yuhaniak for making this commitment to serving our nation and wishes him all the best.

Of course, it's not as though he were actually signing up for military duty any time soon. He'll graduate in four years, by which time the Democratic president will have cleaned up Iraq and will keep all the little YRs safe at home.

Thank you for your comment. You are correct that he won't see combat until 2011 at the earliest.

However, it's probably unlikely that even a Democratic President will have the entire world singing "Kum-bay-ah" in perfect harmony by then.

We'll still need junior Navy and Marine Corps officers in 2011, which is why we appreciate Mr. Yuhaniak for making this commitment to serving our nation.
