Help Enlist the Four Horsemen

One of our patriotic commenters, sue, pointed out four able-bodied young men from Gonzaga University calling themselves "The Four Horsemen". These four fine activist America-lovin' young men, Jason Hagglund, Paul Schafer (when he's not backing up Letterman, I suppose), Josh Skipper, and Nick Dahlvang have proclaimed themselves "the men who revolutionized the Gonzaga campus conservative movement."

Judging from their picture, they all appear to be healthy and able to fight in the Glorious Leader's Divine Plan to Democratize the Middle East by Blowing the Hell Out Of It. OK, maybe a little chubby, but with the military relaxing their weight standards, it's nothing a little P.T. (Army lingo for physical training) won't solve.

I know they are eager to sign up for the military, judging by these recent posts on their group blog:
(Regarding the USA unPATRIOTic Act) Our lawmakers have recognized just how important these provisions are in dealing with terrorists and ensuring the security of our nation. That is why yesterday they overwhelming approved the renewal of the act.

(On anti-war protestors being monitored by the FBI) I believe that a simple definition here for a terrorist is one who wishes to disrupt the lives (cause terror) on the people around him or her. This same classification of behavior can be applied to some of the radical liberal protesters who wish nothing more than ill-will on society around them.

(On the "war on nouns") Since well before the 2003 coalition invasion of Iraq, opponents have kept declaring that "Saddam didn't plan 9-11" - as if anyone in authority ever made such a claim. But Al Qaeda wasn't the only problem. Terrorism, particularly Islamist terrorism (closely associated with Islamofascism), was plaguing the world and with little effective response. It was decided that stopping one enemy wasn't enough - there was a bigger picture and a bigger cause.

(Debating an anti-war commenter) There is no hard evidence that Saddam had links to 9/11, but he did have links to terrorists. That is a fact.

You are so quick to call everything a "lie"... sometimes I wish I could be a teacher for a day and when I ask questions to the class and they answer wrong, I will call them LIARS!!!! Because being wrong about something is the same thing as lying, of course. I'm not a cynical, angry individual like yourself, but even for someone who hates Bush so much I can’t understand why you think you know more about our troop needs in Iraq.

My conclusion is that Bush has been wrong, he has made mistakes, but I do believe he feels he is doing the right thing in Iraq. I do believe he has good intentions in Iraq from the beginning. Let go of your hate…or you will be consumed by the Dark Side.
And of course, the cherry on top of the sundae:
(Answering "why don't you enlist?") [W]e've answered this question over and over... we don't enlist because A) There is not the desperate need for recruits as the leftist bloggers and trolls contend, and B) given A, I personally have a career and have not chosen a military one. End of story.
Anyone care to fill them in on the latest military recruiting numbers?

Paul Hackett Marine whose running for the seat in OH-02 against a countryclub republican(Schmidt) has a few comments for these dorks.

Here's what he said earlier about chickenshit republicans. Schmidt commends Hackett for his service, but believes Hackett should "stand with the president" by "supporting the Iraqi war effort and our troops that are over there," her campaign manager Joe Braun said. (Through Braun, Schmidt declined to speak with Salon.)

When asked to answer that charge, Hackett is blunt: "The only way I know how to support the troops is by going over there." He doesn't hesitate to criticize Schmidt's support of the war: "All the chicken hawks back here who said, 'Oh, Iraq is talking bad about us. They're going to threaten us' - look, if you really believe that, you leave your wife and three kids and go sign up for the Army or Marines and go over there and fight. Otherwise, shut your mouth."

Nothing says "I support the troops" like a care package.

I know if I got a care package I wouldn't care that a car bomb was about to explode in my face.

care packages are a giant FUCK YOU to the troops of the EMPIRE

THEN I SHOULD SEND SOME TOO BECAUSE I WANT TO SAY FUCK YOU TO THE TROOPS AND REPUBLICANS

Careful there, friend. I think we progressives make a grave mistake when we confuse our troops with the machine that directs them. Many of the troops are poor kids that got suckered in because the recruiters knew it wasn't even worth talking to the rich kids. These are poor kids who the Republicans sent into battle but didn't even care to give body armor or armored vehicles. These poor kids reach the end of their enlistment and the Republicans tell them "Oh, we're just going to extend your contract..." So the Republicans have already said to the troops "Fuck you" and I think maybe we should offer a slightly different message.

Also, keep in mind that with the right politicians in power, these same troops could be putting an end to genocide in Darfur. They could be helping to distribute food to the starving children in Niger.

So let's focus on getting the gallant young Republicans to sign up for the military (and before cursing it, remembering that the problem is that the Repubs AREN'T the same as the soldiers right now).

Funny.

Thinking that sending some beef jerky to Iraq will salve your guilty consciences. Go ahead. Send care packages (I have).

But don't think it washes the blood from your hypocritical hands.

I'm a vet. I served. And, yes, that does give my comments a little added weight (especially when addressing punk-ass Rethugs too chickenshit to join up).

I sorrowfully have to report to many that Operation Yellow Elephant is a miserable failure. For some funny reason we are not meeting our recruitment goals.

Damn.

I've asked the cowards to enlist, they don't bother to reply. At least they don't claim to be wounded vets of the gulf war the way the protest warriors do.

You shouldn't be asking them to enlist. You should give their names to the local recruiting office and let the professionals do it.

Is there a way to filter out comments left by anonymous posters? I skip past them anyways (if someone doesn't stand by their words, who gives a crap what those words are?) but it would be nice to be able to filter them out altogether. I am speaking specifically of an end-user browser sort of thing that would have this filtering.
