The reigning Minneapolis (MN) Aquatennial Queen of the Lakes, Ms. Jessica Gaulke, age 22, is giving up her crown to deploy with her National Guard unit to Iraq, where she will serve as a diesel generator mechanic. Aquatennial Pageant organizers will select a new Queen in January, and both Ms. Gaulke and her successor will get the same college scholarship.

Operation Yellow Elephant salutes Ms. Gaulke for her service to our country, and the Aquatennial Pageant organization for supporting her.
