Why We're Still Operation Yellow Elephant
Even though the loyal opposition takes control of both Houses of Congress on January 3, 2007, we'll still be Operation Yellow Elephant because our governing party started the phenomenon and we like the name.
Operation Yellow Donkey and Operation Yellow Democrat both come here.
But what does it mean?
It's simple: If you support (or want to expand) our current efforts in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere, you must also consider the question: Who Will Serve?
If you consider yourself a leader, you have an obligation to call upon those who support you (starting with your own circle of influence) to consider volunteering for military service.
And, if you are personally eligible to serve (healthy heterosexuals 41 and under), you have an even stronger obligation to do so yourself.
As Steve Gilliard said it so well, if you only support our military efforts in the GWOT if someone else actually does the fighting, you don't support them at all.
Be honest. Be as honest with your country as you are with yourself.
That's all we ask.

Thanks so much. I've already ordered a print.
I doubt this will reach the Yellow Elephant's sense of shame. Too many of them are out screeching at anti-war rallies now (oops, I mean protesting the draft -- see today's CNN headlines).
Oops, I mean supporting the troops (if by troops, you mean the shiny yellow hides and orange fingertips of the 101st fighting keyboarders).
War ain't pretty. Neither is chickenshit, which we're still seeing from the self-serving sons of the elite.
