UC Davis College Republicans Support The Troops
Operation Yellow Elephant salutes the UC Davis "Aggies" College Republicans for supporting the troops in Chairman Tim Sutherland's inspirational letter to the student newspaper [scroll down to "Lunch speaker realistic"]:
To live in fear is to live backward. We need to confront the evils of this world and correct them. They won't correct themselves.
--Tim Sutherland
Well, Tim, what do you mean, "We," white man? You passed our e-mail Asking The Question to Davis CR Matt Eagan, who has answered the call to service by spending his last two summers at Marine Corps OCS. He assures me that he's not alone among UC Davis CRs in joining the fight (not just thinking about it). He, his OCS and ROTC colleagues and UC Davis veterans deserve respect for their commitment and service to our country. Operation Yellow Elephant sends them thanks and best wishes.
But what about Chairman Tim Sutherland? If you really want to be a leader, you have to lead! 'Not to mention Immediate Past Chairman Ryan Clumpner, Treasurer Matt Hamm and California CRs Administrative Vice Chairman Mason Harrison.
Instead, you're hiding behind Matt Eagan and other rank-and-file CRs. I've Asked You The Question (via Matt Eagan) and you haven't even responded.
I hope it's not because we're right.

... couldn't be.
Reminds me of McCain's objections to Bush-endorsed torture of war on terror detainees. Sense from those with experience overriden by those who've no firsthand knowledge whatsoever.
Paladin of Torm-
The phrase with "white man?" comes from the Lone Ranger and Tonto and has nothing to do with African-Americans.
I was contrasting Sutherland's use of the first-person plural in his letter with his apparent silence regarding whether it includes him.
Now that that is cleared up, I have a suggestion that has little to do with this post...sorry about this. Congresswoman Jean Schmidt laid this idiocy on us:
"A few minutes ago I received a call from Colonel Danny Bubp, Ohio Representative from the 88th district in the House of Representatives. He asked me to send Congress a message: Stay the course. He also asked me to send Congressman Murtha a message, that cowards cut and run, Marines never do."
Would it be wrong to inquire as to what her 27 year old daughter Emilie does with her time? She'd probably make a pretty decent Marine.
As would you, Kriscinda. Why aren't you serving.
And why the hell are you still a student?
I'm still a student because I decided to go back to school just last year. I'm not fighting this war because I do not support this war...as opposed to a lot of young and able-bodied republicans. Questions answered satisfactorily?
