Phase 3: Getting Serious

Thanks to you, phase 1 and 2 of Operation Yellow Elephant were resounding successes. The yellow elephant meme is spreading like a Cheeto stain on a sleepless Freeper's briefs. All across the wingershpere, service age chickenhawks are desperately posting denunciations so loaded with unintentional irony, compassionate conservatives will soon be requiring them to pay royalties. Even the chair of the Young Republican National Convention, Nathan Taylor, rose to the bait, spinning OYE as a plot to attack veterans appearing at the convention.

Now, it's time to get serious. The College Republicans' influence has been steadily growing for years. They are major players on many college campuses, controlling speakers lists, destroying careers by imposing a new kind of political correctness based on a conservative orthodoxy, and inciting hate by holding events like immigrant hunts. We need to stop them now, before academia goes the way of other institutions like the media and the church and becomes nothing more than an arm of the Republican party.

This takeover of academia affects everyone. We all need to take part in fighting against it. If you're a student, get involved in your local College Democrats chapter, or, if they're too timid to take action, start your own progressively oriented campus group. Use these organizations to counter the College Republicans' every move on campus. Demand "balance" when they invite their speakers. Every appearance by Ann Coulter should be followed by one by Al Franken or some other progressive speaker. Affirmative action bakesales should be forced to compete with bakesales for body armor or Yellow Elephant recruiting drives. No College Republican flyer or ad should ever appear without an OYE sticker applied to it or an OYE flyer posted next to it.

Alumni must take an active interest in their schools. Speak out when professors come under attack from thought policemen. Demand "balance" in the choice of speakers. Provide moral and financial support to your school's progressive organizations.

The rest of us should work with our local, state, and national Democratic organizations to provide support to College Democrats. Mentor them. Reward them with recognition.

Above all, remember the power of ridicule. Laughter is our ultimate weapon. It destroys their credibility as an organization, and God knows, they deserve it. The OYE meme has already done a lot of damage. Continue pushing it so that whenever someone introduces themselves as a College Republican, everyone in earshot will chuckle. That will be the end of the College Republicans as a political force.

It's time to prepare for the start of school. I'd like to beef up our inventory of tools for College Democrats and others to use during this phase of Operation Yellow Elephant. I'm particularly interested in making a large variety of eye-catching flyers and posters available to them. Send them to me in pdf format or just provide a link, and I'll make them available for download. Remember, most students struggle financially, so we need to create things that can be copied and printed cheaply. That means your designs should be done in black and white.

OYE could use a "favicon.ico" for us modern browser users. Russ' 88 x 15 gif seems to indicate that a 16 x 16 elephant would be recognizable. You can find info on setting one up in this message I sent to Patriot Boy about the one I made for Jesus' General.

West Chester University College Dem reporting for duty General! We are planning a body armor bakesale for the upcoming semester. Does anybody know here might I be able to find info on getting speakers for my campus? I could also use some advice on progressive movies to show on campus. We definitely outnumber this scum, and I aim to marginalize them the best that I can!

Great pc. We'll look into answering your questions. I believe that the folks at MyDD are putting together a speakers bureau.

Slightly off-topic, but the t-shirts being sold by our College Dems during the Iowa caucuses this year were hilarious--"DEMOCRAT...because who goes out on a Friday night looking for a piece of elephant?"

Black text on a gray shirt.

Even though I don't hold the copyright, I give you my permission to use this quote!

Thank you general. We would really like to get some yellow elephant supplies. Is it possible for a roll of smaller stickers with just the elephant to be made? Or small buttons with just the elephant. I have found that when it comes to renegade art, overwhelming force is the best tactic. If we use smaller stickers, the cr fliers will be replaced less quickly.

Phase III - Update - Buffalo, NY

Hi,

I'm an officer in the IRR who served 4 years on Active Duty from 1998-2002. I am currently pursuing graduate work at SUNY-Buffalo. I just want to give you an update on what is going on in my AO.

First off, I joined the website www.thefacebook.com via my buffalo.edu e-mail. This gave me instant access to all of the "the facebook" info for a major 26,000 student University.

Then, I conducted a query of UB students who identified themselves as "Conservative" or "Very Conservative." Lo and behold, I got back over 125 names.

Next, I compiled all of these students' information into a word documument listing name, age, e-mail address, major, realtionship status and cell phone# (when available). I also included important sales/closing info such as interests, if they were unemployed, etc.

Finally, I took my completed list alond with an Army OCS flyer I made to the Sheridan Drive Recruiting Station in Buffalo. I met with the Station Commander, SFC Andrew Patterson, and explained who I was and what OYE is all about. He was very appreciative and I volunteered to assist in making the calls.

Bottom Line ... I would encourage everyone with a .edu address to exploit the fountain of info available at "thefacebook.com." By consolodating this information for the recruiters, they are more than happy to "run down the lead."

Keep Up the Great Work!

OYE Buffalo, NY - OUT!

I hate college republicans because at anti-bush rallies they are really mean to us and yank our signs out of our hands and get in our faces and scream and threaten us with violence...

but when we tell them they should take all that anger and use it in iraq, they get even angrier and we have to get all the men protestors around to protect us poor little liberal girls from the young republican chickenhawk bully boys. (boy i sure wouldn't want to be the wife of such angry men who are too chicken to fight in real wars so they bully girls that don't agree with them politically.

maybe it's just the vanderbilt university republicans that are so mean.... i dont' know of any others.

I just asked a wingnut why she wasn't off fighting in Iraq. She said that even if she weren't 32 with a bad back and knee, she wouldn't go over and fight. It "wasn't her cup of tea."

Not her cup of tea...hmmmmmmm.

P.S. Banana, I think you should take up martial arts. You can then earn a black belt in karate and the next time some mean college Republican gives you crap, you can assume a fighting stance, scream "HIIIIIYAAAAAAAA!" and send him or her running off in tears.

Hi Yellow Donkeys - Still drinking the cool-aid? It's because of the restriction people like you impose on the soldiers overseas that cause them to be exposed, injured and killed by the Muslims. What will you do once the Muslims start killing here in the US because we aren't Muslims, start a Yellow Muslim campaign. No because such actions would mean putting you head at risk. Really, if your convictions are truely concerned with helping or furthering the Globalist cause you should be the one in Iraq/Iran protesting there, or getting beheaded there. Because of Communist/Socialists like you we find ourselves in a war were we aren't allowed to use the same force levels used by our enemies. You want to protest something why not protect the current immigration invasion which is under mining the poor American working causing him into a lower and lower wage scale and standard of living.

Hello fellow Hard-Working, Decent, Patriotic Americans,

I have done some research on the war drummers out there. It seems that they have some excuse to not enlist. Well, let’s give them the benefit of the doubt. Maybe they are just TOO busy to sign up. So it is YOUR patriotic duty to sign THEM up. Because if they’re asking for war, they should support the war. Here are the links to sign them up for the arm forces:

http://www.marines.com/page/usmc.jsp?flashRedirect=true

http://www.navy.com/joinnow/

https://www.goarmy.com/contact/send_for_info.jsp?hmref=cs

https://secure.airforce.com/contact/

http://www.1800goguard.com/car/index.php

The ripe candidates are usually any College Republican group, their respective blogs and website. If you can’t get the necessary information there, You can get it here:

http://www.zabasearch.com/
http://www.privateeye.com/processor.asp
http://www.anywho.com/
http://www.whois.net/
http://www.411.com/

Now go out there and start signing these war drummers up. You owe it to them and to your country.

God Bless the OYE!

FReepers* brag about harassing Code Pink's weekly anti-war protests at Walter Reed.

They just posted these comments:

This night, besides the many young people from various DC organizations who have been attending frequently, the start of the fall semester brought eighteen students from George Washington University College Republicans. Their constant motion around the four corners brought verve and humor.

One of the college men commented, "We support out troops in spite of being from a very liberal campus. Many of our professors try to indoctrinate the students every day. For example, in my Logic class, virtually every example of logical fallacies given by the professor is about President Bush or the Iraq War. Another professor advertised an Iraq war protest in class. Academia is supposed to be a forum for many ideas, but it has become a platform only for the left."

Pictures of College Republicans are on the post...making it easier for military recruiters to identify them.
