from the Obama Administration

and the White House website:
Leadership from the Top: President Obama and Vice President Biden will inspire a new generation of Americans to serve their country, whether it be in local communities in such roles as teachers or first responders, or serving in the military to keep our nation free and safe.
and more:
Expand our Diplomatic Presence: To make diplomacy a priority, Obama and Biden will stop shuttering consulates and start opening them in difficult corners of the world -- particularly in Africa. They will expand our foreign service, and develop our civilian capacity to work alongside the military.

Well, that's nice and all, but it's not the direct call to service you always wanted from Bush. Still, it's still early days. Maybe he's waiting to blow his wad once the economy improves, and recruiting gets hard again.

You're right, it's more in the nature of a promise of a direct call to service. They have at least recognized their national leadership responsibility to "inspire."

Sen. McCain did directly encourage Americans not only to support our military, but also to serve in our military. If President Obama wants to expand that call beyond our military, well, at least our military is included.

We will be watching the White House closely in the coming weeks for such an explicit call to Be A Man! Enlist!

Thank you for your comment.

Itw will be difficult for the Messiah to call on others to serve in the military. After all, when he was a young man, he was smoking dope, snorting cocaine, and getting poor grades. He never served and, thus, like Wek and his fellow Democratic pansies, lacks credibility on this issue.
