March 2008 Recruiting Statistics - and more

The Pentagon announced April 10 that all four services met or exceeded their (seasonally-adjusted) recruiting goals for March 2008.

However, we have a further question for a new, but very frequent, commentator: Shouldn't our national civilian political leadership be encouraging even more real Americans [to include legal immigrants] to Be A Man! Enlist!?

On the other hand, real American and 10% disabled Afghanistan vet James Raymond, of Buffalo, New York, has been recalled to active duty despite having lost his most of his hearing in his left ear, injuring his knee, etc.

OYE Comment:

Isn't there one eligible-to-serve civilian out there, who supports what our country is tryingto do, with the personal courage and integrity to take his place?

Hat tip to News of the Weird.

Thanks for finally catching up, Green Baboons. I've noted at least a dozen times the fact that all four branches of the military have been meeting their goals for many, many months now.

I find the Green Baboons' argument rather humorous. When pressed, they all admit to either never serving in the military or to not serving in the military after 9/11. A couple said they tried to enlist but were not accepted, which looks like a convenient excuse. One Green Baboon said he was not medically qualified. Of course, the Green Baboon types jumped all over Rush Limbaugh for the same reason.

And I have yet to get a Green Baboon to answer whether or not they consider FDR a chickenhawk, which leads me to believe that the Green Baboons are more interested in playing politics than they are in seeing who has or has not served.

"Isn't there one eligible-to-serve civilian out there, who supports what our country is tryingto do, with the personal courage and integrity to take his place?"

If he is as disabled as he claims, he will not go to Iraq. However, all of us who have actually enlisted know that part of the commitment includes the IRR. Maybe those who run this blog should actual familiarize themselves with the military before they comment on military matters.

Kev, I know all about the military, in particular the Marines. The reason all four branches have been meeting their goals for months is that since the PR nightmare of them all missing their goals, they lowered their goals significantly. You are a tool. Two decades after your service, I don't think you are supposed to be using your rank (unless you're retired, which you're not).

Show us where the Air Force, Marines, and Navy have lowered their standards. And the Army has signed a small percentage of waivers. You Green Baboons need to make up your minds. You complain that people are not enlisting, and then, when they do, you imply that they are worthless recruits.

Is there any of you Green Baboons who can offer a cogent argument?

Kevvy, learn how to read freeptard. I never said they lowered their standards, I said they lowered their recruiting goals. Actually I'll call out anyone who has the bloodthirst to prove they have "balls" enough to send men to their deaths in order to prove some point about honor.

Victory with honor is sooooo easy when you and yours have no skin in the game. Anyone here recall when the Drunk Bush asked Jim Webb how his son was doing in Iraq?

Is there any doubt Bush knows his family is above sacrificing for his Great Global War on Terror, by like, actually serving in Iraq or Afghanistan?

Do you know what those companies are?

Any reason you feel safer at a computer blasting "green baboons" than overseas in the shit?

That's the only "cogent argument" that matters, if you ask me.

I went to an AZ Diamondbacks game yesterday. The Army had a recruiting tent out in front of Chase Field. Many fine young men in their desert fatigues. Seeing them was like a punch in the stomach.

I will never call a recruit worthless. I save that scorn for someone who is still obviously very much alive and around to troll boards, has actually served in the United States military and yet inexplicably remains a warmonger. You of all people should know better. How sad for soldiers like my brother, who gave their lives for a stupid war based on lies, that you don't.

"Ever notice how green is the color of military uniforms and a baboon is a highly aggressive, territorial primate. Douchebagen f*cked with the wrong herd of baboons."

Actually, since none of your appears to have enlisted after 9/11, I have to assume that you do not support the war on terrorism. Those we are at war with are Islamofascists. If you do not support the fight against them, then you are objectively pro-terrorist. Since green is the traditional color of Islam, that's where the "green" comes from.

Dictionary.com offers this definition for "baboon": "a coarse, ridiculous, or brutish person, esp. one of low intelligence."
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/baboon

I think that makes "Green Baboon" a perfect name for the OYE types.

I'll take the word of 250+ Vietnam Veterams who served their full tours in Vietnam over a guy who gamed the system so he could leave nine months early, only to come home to smear those who served their full tours. And not everyone on Kerry's boat supported him. Gardner did not.

Bush is on good terms with the Saud Family rulers of Saudi arabia. 15 hijackers on 911 were Saudis. To No One In Particular,

It's quite obvious groenhagen is not credible. His arguments

He supports the Swift Boat "Veterans", believing the stories about Jon Kerry (a veteran he doesn't support).

He ignores the fact the Bush Regime hyped a FALSE connection between Saddam and Terrorists.

He complains it's always good to see someone who has not served in the military denigrate the service of those who have

Yet he's clearly indicated he supports those WHO have NEVER served in the Military and Champion the War OVER those who have served IN IRAQ and are Anti-War.

He ignores all pointed questions to label everyone on the post a "green baboon" and cowards.

So if others want to keep feeding him go ahead, I know he wont answer rationally and it appears he is engaging in a one man struggle to discredit those who merely ask CHICKEN HAWK WAR MONGERS to BE A MAN, ENLIST!

"He supports the Swift Boat "Veterans", believing the stories about Jon Kerry (a veteran he doesn't support)."

If the SBVT (250+ Vietnam veterans that, apparently, are okay to attack) were lying, why hasn't John Kerry been able to collect that $1 million that T. Boone Pickens has put up?

"He ignores the fact the Bush Regime hyped a FALSE connection between Saddam and Terrorists."

No they didn't. The recently released Pentagon report notes numerous links between al Qaeda and Saddam's Iraq. And it was the Clinton administration that claimed al Qaeda and Iraq were cooperating on WMD production.

"Yet he's clearly indicated he supports those WHO have NEVER served in the Military and Champion the War OVER those who have served IN IRAQ and are Anti-War."

That's a falsehood. I have sided with those who support our efforts in Iraq and have not server over the OYE types who make the dishonest and cowardly argument that those who support those efforts are cowards and unmanly because they have not enlisted. Note that most, if not all, of the Green Baboons associated with OYE have not served in Iraq. In fact, some, such as, I believe, wek, has never served in uniform.

"He ignores all pointed questions to label everyone on the post a "green baboon" and cowards."

Actually, you have that backwards. I have addressed pointed questions here. You Green Baboons refused to answer my questions. For example, look how many times I have asked if FDR, who supported World War I yet did not enlist to fight in that war, was a chickenhawk. None of you Green Baboons has answer that question. In fact, OYE merely offered a ridiculous post in which they said past wars were irrelevant. How convenient.

"So if others want to keep feeding him go ahead, I know he wont answer rationally and it appears he is engaging in a one man struggle to discredit those who merely ask CHICKEN HAWK WAR MONGERS to BE A MAN, ENLIST!"

Did you enlist after 9/11 to fight in the war against terrorism?

At 21 April, 2008 11:24, Blogger Grung_e_Gene said...

No, I didn't enlist after 9/11. I was already serving at CLNC, 2D Intelligence Bn.

As you no doubt know FDR was SECNAV during WWI. Remember who gave us the EGA? I don't have much respect for FDR because he expanded the powers of the Federal Government almost as much as Bush. Once he contracted Guillain-Barre disease in the 20's he obviously couldn't serve.

I have much more respect for Smedley Butler, you know him right? What would he say about the Iraq War?

I call out all Chicken Hawks and War Mongers like Hillary and her Chelsea. Chelsea has used her mother's position to garner herself a lucrative job for a Hedge Fund (which donated to Hillary's election) in the range of 150k - 180k a year.

John Wayne was a Chicken Hawk. George Clooney is a chicken hawk when it comes to Darfur because it won't be his pampered ass which sweats in the desert handing out rice, dodging ak rounds and not showering for 7 weeks.

As for accepting recruits with lowered standards. The all-volunteer military does. I would have failed he physical during WWII. I have severely flat feet, but during my exam in 1999 I was placed mild pronation.

I've served in both iraq and afghanistan. I'm against the war in iraq.

When I hear the word of those who have never served and never will passionately rallying the americans to stay the course and not surrender I wonder why they are not willing to put themselves in the line of fire, especially if this is the equivalent of WWII? Why aren't they willing to risk their lives, place their careers on hold, seperate themselves from the families for 7-15 months?

I think your partisan hatred of clinton and liberals is blinding you to the fact the war in iraq is not making americans safer, is not reducing the overall number of terrorists who might attack america, is a huge transfer of wealth, and will not result in a democratic nation in iraq.

The fear was that Saddam would hand off WMD to terrorist groups to use against Americans. That concern grew after 9/11. Richard Clarke discussed the possibility of rogue states arming terrorist groups in a 1998 speech. Clarke also promoted the doctrine of preemption in that speech.

I met the perfect woman nearly 20 years ago and have been with her every since, so there is no need for me to go online for a date.

But your continued Green Baboon behavior has been noted. Your debating skills are simply awesome.

"Perfect woman" you say

You must have had her mummified and buried under the floor of your garage for about ninteen and a half of those years

That's about the only way I could imagine any woman sticking around to listen to your knee jerk reactionary spewings.

First of all douchebagen, the guy at the dating site is 31, I'm 48. He's in Colorado, I'm in Arizona. I've been married for 25 years and she's not buried in the garage like yours.

Leigh, everything about you says chickenhawk: the retard haircut, the girls first name, the fact that your not in Iraq. Your a big pussy, deal with it.

rj3000:

Sure, that's not you. With millions of alpha-numeric combinations, it's just a major coincidence that you both call yourselves rj3000.

"Leigh, everything about you says chickenhawk: the retard haircut, the girls first name, the fact that your not in Iraq. Your a big pussy, deal with it."

I bet he doesn't have to use the Internet in an effort (albeit, apparently unsuccessfully) to get a date.

wow, you went and looked up photos of me. That's a little bit creepster for a guy who's "been married for 25 years." Do we have a Larry Craig on our hands here? Maybe that really is you on that dating site. Can't imagine a married man who's a closeted homosexual with a fetish for 20 something young men would use his real age or location. I must ask though, of all the people to internet stalk, why go looking for photos of me? I do live in SF however, i have a bunch of gay friends...maybe you could come by sometime and say hello.

Oh, there is one thing that proves you wrong, but i think i'll save that gem till i'm done fucking with you.

rj3000 continues to show that "Green Baboon" is a great name for him and the other OYE types. If he had any sense, he would know that Leigh is indeed a boy's name.
http://www.babyhold.com/list/Celtic_Baby_Names/Leigh/details/

He must be thinking of Jamie Lee Curtis. Of course, "Lee" comes from her mother's maiden name, Leigh.

The ironic thing is that rj3000 and these other OYE dolts resort to the personal attacks because they're not smart enough to debate military and political issues. However, they only make themselves look even more foolish when they go the personal attack route.

Leigh, "done fucking with me"? that gem must be that you're "planning to join the Marine Corps" right? I'm planning to be King of England. Hey there are two great "tops" I heard of that you might like, they're both republicans like Larry Craig: their names are Matt and Jimmy/Jeff. Matt was a marine and Jeff pretends to be one. Even your president knows how to use "the google" and then click on images.

And Leigh, one more thing before you're done fucking with me: let's think back to 4/9 when you first joined us. You were jealous of fellow chickenhawks DeWinter and Antonopoulos. You wanted attention. You wanted your picture on this blog. You wanted bragging rights at the College Retard Convention. Why the fuck wouldn't we all google pictures of your dumbass protesting Sean Penn. Stick to hangin' with the Log Cabin Boys.

And another thing Leigh Anne, if and when you do ever make it to boot camp or OCS, the DI's and the other guys will have a field day with your first name and the fact that your from SF.

Groenhagen has long since forfeited any right to get upset about lack of civility.

There is no debate with this guy,,
he just tries to scream everyone down with his canned bullshit talking points.

Groenhagen came here to pick a fight not a debate. so a fight is what he gets.
If you don't tow the George W bush line 100% regardless of our Honorable service to this country he calls you a traitor and a coward.
To me thats asking for it..

Leigh, embarrassment to all of Northern California. Please shut up, You don't seem as much of a slimy little twerp when we talk about you in the abstract as you do when you make your asinine contributions to the conversation

rj3000, if that is your real name, you need to get one of those cool stereos from sharper image that plays wave sounds. That, or you need to take up smoking pot. I can see the vein in your forehead about to pop.

"Why the fuck wouldn't we all google pictures of your dumbass "
Yea, don't try to bring others into your realm of creepiness. At least they can save their dignity by not being associated with a border line pedophile. You ever seen to catch a predator? because i think rj3000 was one of the screen names they caught. You posted 3 times in 20 minutes, i think we can fly the mission accomplished banner. I'm officially inside your melon. I must say though, it's a lot more spacious than i expected.

If you're all so sure i'm a chickenhawk, why wouldn't you put me up on your blog? Isn't that the point of this website? To embarrass College Republicans who support the war but don't sign up?

robash141, you're only encouraging me by acknowledging me.

Wow, I'm sure everyone has gotten great satisfaction and joy from the insults but the basic premise still holds true.

Anyone who supports the occupation of Iraq and has no intention of joining and serving needs to be questioned. Most are bloodthirsty Warmongering Chicken Hawks and need to be called on their stance, especially if they are young and able.

President Bush has made clear with over 5 years worth of speeches this is the greatest confrontation of the 21st century. Chicken Hawks unite and serve!

Wow, you can just see rj3000 spitting over his monitor as he typed in those posts for Leigh. In my opinion, he appears much too emotional to discuss political and military issues in a reasoned and dispassionate manner.
