College and Young Republicans: Help Recruiters Maintain a Professional Approach!

Attention College and Young Republicans:

Military recruiters appreciate your support in ensuring access to college campuses to contact prospective enlistees. However, our military recruiters need your help in other ways, to keep them out of trouble and focused on their mission.

For good reasons, military regulations prohibit any contact between recruiters and prospective recruits that is not required by the recruiting mission. As Elaine Donnelly, president of the Center for Military Readiness, has said, however, "Let's face it, these guys are handsome in their uniform, they're mature, they give a lot of attention to these girls, and as recruiters they do a lot of the same things that guys do when they want to appeal to girls. There's a very fine line there, and it can be very hard to maintain a professional approach."

That's where you come in.

Since few if any College and Young Republicans have any intention of actually joining the military, recruiters can freely socialize with them because, by definition, such contacts are completely and totally independent of the recruiting mission. If you don't want to invite military recruiters to your events to enlist your members, the least you can do is invite them to attend as social guests.

Military recruiting is a tough job even in the best of circumstances. Remember that recruiters' personal morale is also essential to our national defense and President Bush's victory in the Global War on Terrorism in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere.

Your Country Thanks You.

What kind of BS site is this. About 85% of the people in the military are conservatives. This is why the liberals always try to disenfranchise the military vote, because it is overwhelmingly CONSERVATIVE.

The libs are busy protesting so surely you can not expect people to believe that the military is full of libs fighting the war. Libs don't like guns or violence.

big dot-

You're missing the point. You're focusing on those patriotic real Americans who have actually had the guts to contact a recruiter and join the military.

We're focusing on those eligible-to-serve civilians who call themselves CONSERVATIVES who 'Support' Our Troops but don't have the courage to do the same by putting themselves on the line.

Our military may be disproportionately Republican (the sum of individual choices) but Republicans are not disproportionately military.

How many Iraq veteran is running for Congress as a Republican? One.

Big Dog-

markg8 is quite right.

In World War II, patriotic young women called themselves the V (for Victory)-Girls to show our troops how much the home front supported them, as only they could.

In the new millennium, self-proclaimed V-Women (and, for equality, V-Guys or V-Men) can volunteer to do the same.

Do you really Support Our Troops? Prove it.

The real strategy here is quite clear: Get the military guys to the College and Young Republicans' parties so they can steal all the girls.

Of course, that isn't exactly the way it works, and for good reasons.

But, if properly introduced to military men who are, "let's face it, these guys are handsome in their uniform, they're mature, they give a lot of attention to these girls, and as recruiters they do a lot of the same things that guys do when they want to appeal to girls," it's certainly possible that at least some of the female members of the College and Young Republicans may, in an exercise of their personal autonomy, voluntarily choose to spend time engaging in social activities with military recruiters, and, in a private situation involving consenting adults exclusively, may also, as adult women fully in control of their sexuality, choose to engage in physical sexual intimacy, subject of course to refusal or withdrawal of consent at any time, etc., well, isn't that the way that the principle of evolution by natural selection ensures survival of the fittest?

If the male College and Young Republicans want to get laid, maybe the female members of their organization can, in a patriotic exercise of their personal autonomy, and as adult women fully in control of their sexuality, etc., encourage them to Be A Man! Enlist!
