We Couldn't Agree More
Bill Moyers from PBS has offered a solution to help Our Countrymen portion out the war in Afghanistan (hat tip).
Let's share the sacrifice. Spread the suffering. Let's bring back the draft. Yes, bring back the draft for as long as it takes the politicians and pundits to fix Afghanistan to their satisfaction. Bring back the draft and then watch them dive for cover on Capital Hill in the watering holes and think tanks of the beltway and in the quiet little offices where editorial writers spin clever phrases justifying other peoples' sacrifice.Watch it all here:

No, No, No, No! Taking American youth from their homes at gunpoint, forcing them to face either prison bars or enemy bullets is disgusting, evil, just plain wrong. Either we persuade those who currently decline to serve to change their minds or we don't, but to force them is to enslave them.
Let's merely continue to get around the Draft by merely undervaluing education and eliminating the Middle Class so the burden of fighting for American Interests falls squarely on the backs of those Americans who don't have to worry about Health Insurance or Mortgages or Child Care while the benefits of expanding markets into Iraq or Afghanistan flow to those Americans made of the Right quality...
I am a vet of the Afghan mission.
I am also a straight male, but I want to have Bill Moyers' babies.
