Military Recruiting Lead: St. Cloud, Minnesota

Attention Military Recruiters:

The College Republicans at St. Cloud University in Minnesota strongly Support both The Troops and The War. "I think if you support the troops you support what they do", said Adam Northenscold. "I think it boils down to that, it's like saying I'm a big fan of football, but I don't like when they hit each other."

Well, Adam, do you really Support The Troops and The War? Have you considered military service for yourself, not just other people?

He didn't Answer The Question from us, so, in the spirit of civil discourse, please feel free to Ask him yourself.

After all, military recruiting has no "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy.

Try something like this, might get them thinking about it:

Good day Adam,

I am writing to you in behalf of my fellow Marines in the USMC.

I understand that you are supportive of our efforts to bring freedom and Democracy to the oppressed peoples of the Middle East.
Thank you and a big HOORAH!! from the 3rd Marines, 2nd division. Please keep up the good work supporting our cause.

In this light I'd like to ask you if you have considered giving more than just moral support to our mission?
There is currently a substantial enlistment bonus as well as college tuition bonuses that very well could pay off your currently outstanding educational loan, and help with whatever costs you may incur in acquiring your final degree.

Since you are already a college student and as a representative of the St. Cloud University College Republicans I assume you at least have acquired your Bachelors degree. This would qualify you for an officers commission! If you bring this up with your recruiter and make it a stipulation of enlistment I can assure that you most probably will receive that commission. Nothing looks better on a resume than distinguished service as an officer, and it would open up a vast array of Political opportunities for you as well.

This situation would also apply to any members of the St. Cloud University College Republicans.

I hope you and others in the movement give this some serious thought, we could really use bright minds like yours in the field bringing the light of Democracy to this freedom starved region.

Todd

Adam does support the troops, and why should he consider joining the military? he already has three brothers in the military and one sister joining the peace corps. is that not enough for one family to give? to support the ttroops must everyone join the military? i am his brother and i am in the United States Airforce. one of my brothers is in the United States Army, and another is a marine. if everbody that supported our troops had to join, we would have no one left here to take care of the country. adam has a family to take care of and is would be better and taking are of logistics, not on the battle field. and as one of the "troops" that you say you support, i am offended whe you say bring the troops home. we believe we are doing good, and we would love to have more people like adam to support us. supporters that believe in us and our cause.

Adam's brother-

Thank you and your siblings for your service to our country. Thank you also for providing additional information to us. [We did ask Adam directly, but if he got our message, he chose not to respond.]

We want everyone eligible to serve who supports the war to consider serving. There are many valid reasons for not serving, including the ones you mentioned. But that's why we asked Adam directly.

I'm not sure where you got the idea that this blog has taken a position on the war, or where we say "bring the troops home."

We actually support our troops. We want to see our nation succeed. And if every eligible American who supports the war seriously considers serving, we will have more than enough well qualified, patriotic recruits to sustain the mission.
