Another Correction of the Day: The New York Times: Hel-lo!
The New York Times has done it again.
OYE Comment:
OBITUARIESAn obituary on Friday about Wesley A. Brown, the first black graduate of the United States Naval Academy, referred incorrectly to Mr. Brown and other students at the academy. They are called midshipmen, not cadets. (Students at the United States Military Academy at West Point are cadets.)
One would think that The New York Times would try to do a better job about knowing basic facts about our military. Think again.

It's a result of Star Trek, believe it or not. Most people know more about the Starfleet Academy then they do about the actual academies (Military, Naval, Air Force, Coast Guard, Merchant Marine). And at Starfleet Academy they are mistakenly called "cadets".
