I...I....I don't know what to say?

There are times when a narrator needs to use few words and let the dumbassery display itself.

With that I present to you the Hip Hop duo of Stiltz and Serious C from The Young Conservatives.

I really hope I receive an E-mail from these guys saying "Dude, this is just a stoopid joke you fell for".

Still happening on President Obama's watch

It's time to bring this to the table, Mr. President.
As a candidate, Barack Obama spoke out strongly against the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy of banning gays and lesbians from serving openly in the Armed Forces. He promised a full repeal of the ban if he was elected. But President Obama seems to be backing down from this pledge. The White House now hedges on the issue, saying it supports changing the policy "in a sensible way."

What's clear to me, a gay man who served for four years in the military, including in Iraq and Afghanistan, is that the most sensible change would be a full repeal.

I was a line infantryman in the Army's Ranger regiment from 2000-04, earning a promotion to sergeant within three years. In that time, my platoon performed dozens of combat missions on the front lines. Our lives depended on complete mutual trust.

Several of my colleagues knew I was gay. We lived in the closest possible conditions. When there were showers, we showered together. When we were out overnight on the cold, bare mountains of Afghanistan, we slept huddled together for warmth. It should go without saying that there was nothing remotely sexual about these situations. We had uncomfortable experiences -- we were at war, after all -- but my buddies were never uncomfortable with me.

JROTC Restored in San Fran

Winners: Students in San Francisco that wish to continue with JROTC.

Losers: 3 whiny school board members that didn't get their way (names and email addresses within the link).
San Francisco's Board of Education voted 4-3 Tuesday night to restore the military leadership program. The policy reversal was helped by a huge public outcry from students and parents - and the threat of state legislation authored by Assemblywoman Fiona Ma, D-San Francisco.

Military Recruiting Budget to be Cut

From the Washington Post.

The proposed budget would reverse years of increased spending aimed at bolstering military forces strained by six years of combat in Iraq and nearly eight in Afghanistan. From 2004 to 2008, annual funding for recruiting and retention programs more than doubled, from $3.4 billion to $7.7 billion.

Amid a deep recession that has made the military a more appealing option for job seekers, all the armed services have consistently met or exceeded their recruiting and retention goals in recent months, according to the Pentagon.

President Obama's commitment on ending DADT

Second Lieutenant Sandy Tsao sent a letter to President Obama asking him to repeal the Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy. She received this in return:
Sandy -
Thanks for the wonderful and thoughtful letter. It is because of outstanding Americans like you that I committed to changing our current policy. Although it will take some time to complete (partly because it needs Congressional action) I intend to fulfill my commitment.

The Code Pink Imposters

Following up on a previous post: It's kind of her to offer a lame explanation.
“In locking down, we intend to interrupt ‘business as usual’ at this station. We reject the institutions of recruitment that prey upon our communities, and we reject U.S. sponsored state violence in the Middle East. As long as the United States continues this imperialist project, destroying lives and denying self-determination to the peoples of Afghanistan and Iraq, we will continue to oppose this system directly, by any means possible........."

OYE Comment: It's too bad Melanie and her companions didn't perform this stunt in the middle of Minnesota's winter.

Pilot Program Pads Army Recruiting

Legal immigrants with targeted skill sets have stepped up.
Late last week, the teenager walked into a recruiting office in an Eagle Rock mall wearing a pendant shaped like a dog tag around his neck. Until recently, local recruiters would have had to turn him away. His student visa would not have qualified him to enlist. Only citizens or permanent residents who carry green cards were eligible to serve.

But starting today, 10 Los Angeles-area Army recruiting offices will begin taking applications from some foreigners who are here on temporary visas or who have been granted asylum.

Keepin' Tabs

The only person more worthless than Jason Mattera may be the booger-eating moron that thought it would be a good idea to give him the microphone.

Mr. Mattera returned to the state he set up a whites only scholarship to deliver a speech about how much he loves Our Country, defending freedom and other assorted rants.

NOTE TO JASON: Please purchase a better video camera. The wind did more than blow around your comb-over, it made the recording nearly unbearable.
