The Political Teen Idiot

The little boy from Politcal Teen sent me the following message regarding the people of New Orleans:

One question: We [sic] you one of the morons who stayed behind just to see if he had the balls the stand up to a category four hurricane.

Or were you one of the idiots who thought, Hey! No biggie. I’ll just drink myself to death while I’m drowning.

You want the one MOST responsible for the potentially thousands of dead N.O.-brainers? [sic] You’re shithold [sic] of a mayor, who believes that welfare extends even to mayors of cities, and that even HE (the highest local official in N.O.) should rely upon the feds to do for them.

What an asshole, that Mayor of yours.

I suggest you go give him some love. Ask him where he lives, and if he knows anything about the south. Ask him where his conservative compassion is. Ask him why he is deriding a whole city as “idiots” and “morons”. And finally, ask him if he plans to go fight in Iraq soon.

This is not atypical of the reponse from the right.

Apparently the mayor is now the whipping boy of the GOP, I have seen this elsewhere on the blogs already.

From what I've read, he used to be Republican but switched to Dem when he ran for mayor, because a Republican has a snowball's chance in hell of winning an office in NO.

He has only been Dem for a few years but I think it was a few years too many, because somebody somewhere taught him how to say something other than "Yas suh," and the Repubs aren't having any of that.

"This is Ian from The Political Teen. I can insure you that I never sent an email to you with those statements. In fact I don't think we've ever been in email contact. I don't appreciate the derogatory comments you made about me on your weblog and I would appreciate that you either take them down or issue an apology."

I've discovered that Ian from Political Teen was not reponsible for this message at all. Apparently it was one of Ian's followers who sent this message to me. I made the mistake because in the message, the coward references a post I made on Ian's website in support of the local offcials. However, upon reviewing Ian's website, will find that he is using the same rhetoric that pushes the blame for the Katrina disaster on the city officials, state officials, and even the locals themselves. Ian is a Bush apologist, and he is completely convinced that they (Bush and his gand of incompetents) are doing the best they can. Well, Ian when life is as stake, their best falls very short of good enough.

I at least give him props for being politically active... even if it's well... .... .... atleast he's active.
It is hard to pick up on the spin BUSH CO. puts out when you're younger, we're still so trusting in everything "adults" say...

Gosh, how old is he, 14? The level of maturity shown at Political Teen displays the worst of what our teenagers have to offer. Which makes sense, as the grown up Bush supporters show us the worst of what adults have to offer the world.

Tell Ian, and all the other Bush apologists, to get a load of this:

Statement on Federal Emergency Assistance for Louisiana

Just in case the Bushies purge this page from the White House website (would you be surprised?), I've reprinted it here.

Now, what bit of sophistry will next be conjured in order to pass the buck?

Rag all you want on the feds' response. As the waters recede and the dust settles, the catastrophe's blame will fall squarely on the STATE government's abysmal performance. Louisiana would NOT even allow the Red Cross into the disaster zone and delayed in requesting FEMA action. For a reality check, see http://wizbangblog.com/archives/007010.php (Sorry, new to this and don't know how to post url links yet.)

Nice try temperate -- I know the righty blogosphere is pimping that story for all it's worth but it's just not taking.

Earth to temperate soul! Yo! The governor wrote to Bush requesting AID in late August. Bush declared an emergency. FEMA was required by law to move in.

Also, you may be surprised to hear this, but FEMA took three days to reach Mississippi. The fact that people overlook this probably has a lot to do with the fact that Mississippi has a GOP governor.

Well, I'm a mother of a teen. I am outraged that those right-wing nuts have molested that boy's mind. We really need to get organized to protect the children from those perverts.
