OYE opportunity to target GOP cowards on Bush's home turf

Here's a quick rundown about Cindy Sheehan, via dkosopedia:
Cindy Sheehan is the mother of son Army Spc. Casey Sheehan, of Vacaville, California, who was killed in Sadr City (located in Baghdad) on April 4th, 2004, in combat.

In June of that year, President George W. Bush met with Cindy. As she described it, "He wouldn't look at the pictures of Casey. He didn't even know Casey's name," she told CNN Sunday. "Every time we tried to talk about Casey and how much we missed him, he would change the subject." .

In August of 2005, when George W. Bush decided to go on yet another vacation, Cindy went to protest at his Texas ranch. Cindy has documented her stay there, dubbed "Camp Casey", in several diaries on the Daily Kos website.

Sheehan is also a founder of Gold Star Families for Peace.
So Dumbya's decided to take another vacation, this time for a full five-weeks (hmmm, sounds awfully French to me...) to cut brush and work on that mail-order "Hooked on Phonics" course he keeps flunking. Recently, he bloviated: "We have to honor the sacrifices of the fallen by completing the mission." As well as: "The families of the fallen can be assured that they died for a noble cause."

Cindy refuses to allow these latest lies from Bush to go unanswered. She, along with members of GSFP, Veteran's for Peace (VFP), Military Families Speak Out (MFSO), Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW), Code Pink, Crawford Peace House and volunteers from across the country have converged on an area near Bush's ranch in Crawford and are intent on meeting with him personally. Here's what she wants to tell the Boy King to his face:
  1. We want our loved ones' sacrifices to be honored by bringing our nation's sons and daughters home from the travesty that is Iraq IMMEDIATELY, since this war is based on horrendous lies and deceptions. Just because our children are dead, why would we want any more families to suffer the same pain and devastation that we are.

  2. We would like for him to explain this "noble cause" to us and ask him why Jenna and Barbara are not in harm's way, if the cause is so noble.

  3. If George is not ready to send the twins, then he should bring our troops home immediately. We will demand a speedy withdrawal.
The weather there the last few day has been lousy with rain, the sheriff has been hassling them, and they were forced off the small parcel of land they were staying on by one of Bush's asshole neighbors who threatened them with tresspassing. Now they have to stay on a small strip along the side of the road or in the ditch alongside it. But Cindy and the other determined volunteers are not giving up, nor giving in.

Now, here's where OYE comes in (from dkos diary by patrioticliberal) :

Cindy Needs Your Help; ClearChannel Stations to Host Anti-Sheehan BBQ
by patrioticliberal
Wed Aug 10th, 2005 at 08:47:39 MDT

They are inviting soldiers from the Fort Hood area to come down and say that they would be ashamed of their mother if she did what Mrs. Sheehan is doing. Protest to KLFX! Their number is 1-254-699-5000, and YES, I'm keeping that number here. It's also publicly accessible here.

Update [2005-8-10 15:10:17 by patrioticliberal]: JUST CONFIRMED: KLFX ("KLFX 107.3 The Fox Rocks") and their group stations, KWTX 1230 AM (Waco) - 1-254-776-3900, 102.5 FM (NOTE KWTX IS FOX NEWS RADIO, *NOT* THE TV CHANNEL, WHICH IS NOT ASSOCIATE WITH THEM) and one more that is forgotten at this time, will be at the PRO-BUSH/ANTI-SHEEHAN rally. They are owned by Clear Channel. A host named "JACK HAMMER" will be there.

The Anti-Sheehan BBQ will be in the lot NEXT TO THE Crawford Bank, free burgers, soft drinks ("Coca Cola"), and everything Saturday at noon.

Update [2005-8-10 15:57:17 by patrioticliberal]: READ VERY CAREFULLY BELOW: The protest will be held in a nearby lot *NEXT* to the Security Bank of Crawford, *NOT* AT THE SECURITY BANK OF CRAWFORD! THEY ARE NOT SPONSORING IT AND THEY ARE NOT INVOLVED! THANK YOU. ED SCHULTZ JUST CONFIRMED THIS ON AIR. He also said that the Ft. Hood military ARE being ALLOWED at this thing.

"Allowed" being the fancy Bush badministration way of telling the troops, "De Fuhrer has made it clear as kristalnacht that he expects you to be there und cheer for him und boo und make hissing sounds at der mother of der fallen soldier."

Well, folks, if the men and women from Ft. Hood are going to be there, it sounds like the perfect time to find them some fresh recruits. One would imagine there'd be lots of young pusillanimous Republicans in full strut, pretending they've got a pair between their legs, hoping to score some free greasy burgers in between bouts of manly chest-thumping and grunting. THIS is the fresh meat on the hoof necessary to keep Dear Leader's war machine grinding in Iraq, and they must be inducted immediately!

If any OYE operatives happen to be in the Crawford area this Saturday, here's a suggestion:

Crawford is near to Waco, and it just so happens there is both an Army and a Marine recruitment center there, almost next to each other. On your way to the barbecue, stop by:

US Army Recruiting
(254) 776-1547
1200 Richland Dr # 365C
Waco, TX 76710

US Marine Corps Recruiting
(254) 772-7754
1200 Richland Dr # B
Waco, TX 76710

Pick up a bunch of brochures and business cards, and head over to Crawford for a tasty burger and a cold Coca-Cola. After you've refreshed yourself, walk around the event and collar every young man and woman you can get to, put a brochure and business card directly into their uber-patriotic little hands and ask if they're ready to enlist RIGHT NOW! Remind them that it's their solemn duty, if they truly believe in President Bush and his Everlasting War on Terraâ„¢, that they leave hearth and home and head over to Iraq ASAP.

And if they start spouting any shit about Cindy, ask them which they're more afraid of -- a middle-age woman whose son was killed by his Commander-in-Chief's lies, or the truth of which she speaks.

UPDATE: Just getting ready to post this, and saw an update at patrioticliberal's diary:
Update [2005-8-10 18:3:59 by patrioticliberal]: There are reports that Evan Armstrong at the KWTX channel (1230 AM, Fox News Radio, the likes of Limbaugh, O Reilly etc) - - says that the protest is "not" Anti-Sheehan (although Thom Harmann's show engineer clearly heard that it was an anti-Sheehan/pro-Bush combination rally) and that it may be moved either in date or in location because they don't want to give people the idea they are protesting Sheehan. However, take where Evan works. Fox News Radio. Do you trust him? Here's their website: . You might be fascinated by their GOP Babes of the Week.
Looks like the Yellowphants are already getting nervous. If you're in the Crawford area, give them a good reason to be worried.

This is Phil Hendrie's attack on Sheehan. Don't bother commenting on his site--as soon as I post, he edits the post and deletes all dissent. I guess that's the best way to win an arguement. He shuts down the posting option at will to maintain control over the thread. The guy has posted a total of three essays and has completely lost control of his blog.

I have stopped subscribing to his show because of the nastiness he has developed in the last few months. Read below for the straw that 'broke the camel's back.'

Anti-War Mom: Another Ignorant Cow
Casey Sheehan was a re-enlistee with the Army's 1st Cavalry. He knew he was going to fight. He understood that. He embraced it. He fought like a soldier. And like a soldier he died, killed in April of 2004, in Sadr City, Iraq.

Casey's mom, Cindy, doesn't quite get it. She is a mother who has lost her son to a war. Convinced she knows more about the costs of war than other parents who've suffered similar loss, she has parked herself outside President Bush's ranch in Crawford, Texas. Full of judgment and hate, calling him "selected," not elected, blaming him personally for the death of her son, this clueless woman is going to sit there until the President comes out. She's going to set him straight.

Cindy Sheehan is another bereaved parent that the anti-Iraq War movement has run its game on. Manipulating her in her sadness and anger, they've created a self-righteous ignoramus. Casey Sheehan was cut down by foreign insurgents, the same Saudi-Iranian-Syrian animals that carved up Nick Berg. But to Cindy, the man who killed her son is George Bush. Cindy believes Bush lied about our reasons for going to war and thus led her son to his death through outright deceit.

The "Bush Lied" theory has been debated and discredited but Anti-War Mom hasn't noticed. Cindy Sheehan isn't outside the Bush ranch as a truth-seeker. She's there for her public-relations potency. "I want people to know the real costs of war," she says. A mother grieving her loss. The inhumanity of war. Oh, the wickedness of it all. It's the anti-Iraq War Propaganda Machine working the sewer again.

The philosophy of the September 10th movement can be boiled down to this: "If we hadn't started anything....... then nothing would have started." Like a parent encouraging a child to avoid bullies by walking 2 blocks out of the way, the September 10th movement believes that avoidance and non-engagement would have been the way to avert 9/11, the Gulf War, Beirut...maybe even World War Two. Since that didn't happen, the anti-Iraq war Poseurs set out to revise history so they can shore up politically. "Clinton had nothing to do with any of this. It was all Bush and he (just to add a touch of true malevolence) LIED!!" No proof is offered of course. Proof means truth. And the truth is this war was unavoidable, brought on by an historic clash of culture and ideal, powered by the American people themselves, rising to meet the future, pissing off the rag heads.

Anti-War Mom raised her children in the American culture of struggle, progress, success and failure. Like many, she refused to take ownership of her government, preferring the platitude of loving her country. No people own their government more than the American people. And no other people in the world more strenuously disassociate from it when the going gets tough. And the going is always the toughest when times are good and war arrives. For Cindy Sheehan and millions of other moms the inconvenience of this could not be overstated. While she was busy chasing the good life, made possible by the millions of backstairs deals cut globally everyday through American corporations and politicians (not to mention enforced by an international security apparatus) her good life was coming up against other considerations authored in the caves of Pakistan.

At first, since it was a question of country, not government, Anti-War Mom supported the war although her loyalty to one and not the other began to impede her ability to understand things clearly. When news arrived of her sons death, her tenuous line to reality snapped. Not only was she not at all responsible for her government, she didn't much like the country either, lecturing her fellow citizens on the costs of war, arrogant in the depths of her ignorance about the prices others have paid.

Anti-War Mom might be powerful had she any ideas of her own. But since she is a mouth-piece for the September 10th movement her guns are empty. The Anti-War movement in America continues to lack anything approaching ideas or answers. But it does encourage Anti-War Mom to live in the past. It's where her son lives, they tell her. So she joins the other wayfarers in the desert, nomads whose camels follow the camel ahead, all going in a circle.

This attacking of people associated with honorable sacrifice for the sake of their nation and birthright is nothing new for the vultures in the White House. They went after John McCain inferring that after spending so much time as a POW he must be crazy - to win a primary nothing is sacred. They propped up the swift boat people to attack Kerry - ignoring the fact that guys who had served with Kerry had nothing but praise for his action under fire. Valerie Plame was outed even though she was an active CIA operative, and the outing caused untold damage to ongoing CIA undercover projects - all just so they could get at her husband who was showing that Bush lied about Iraq attempting to purchase plutonium. It's now widely recognized that "Turd Blossom" (Bush's nickname for Karl Rove) was responsible and his job is safe because he's W's good freind and favorite dirty trickster. If the White House feels that someone might hurt their image and/or goals, they go after them regardless of consequences. I read a lot of history, and only Richard Nixon comes close to comparing with this bunch of turd blossoms. Torture, war profiteering cronyism, falsifying evidence, endangering lives of undercover operatives, sending Americas best and brightest to die - all just so they can enrich themselves and weild power. So far without the fear of consequences. When I seek a pleasent dream, I picture the whole bunch of them in the docket trying to explain themselves and/or invoking executive privelege in a last desperat attempt to save their backsides from the BBQ pit. It can't come soon enough for me.

I just called Evan Armstrong at KWTX and the receptionist said they've cancelled the BBQ which was a "support the troops" rally not an anti Cindy Sheehan thing.
